World Book Day - Thursday 1st March

Share a Story campaign has been launched for 2018.  The campaign has been created to encourage parents and carers to spend just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with their children. Similarly, children are encouraged to read with their parents - and older siblings are invited to read with younger brothers and sisters, too.  It's a fantastically fun, nationwide event. Parents have the opportunity to share what they are reading using #ShareAStory.  A great idea is to share a 'shelfie' take a photograph of your bookcase or book shelf or pile of reading books at home and share with your teacher via the academy website.

We will be giving out £1 book tokens on the day, we will also be using the day to dress up as a favourite character or book.

Children have the opportunity to dress up for World Book Day.

Each class has a special theme

Nursery – dress up as a nursery rhyme or a traditional tale character

Reception – the choice of any character from a favourite book

Year 1 and Year 2– the theme for the term is ‘Animals’ please dress up as an animal or an animal character from a story, for example Paddington Bear, The Gruffalo, Mr Fox, The Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs
