The children will be selling drinks, cakes and sweets on their stalls. There will also be raffle tickets on sale.
All profit made from their business will be going to the Corby Nightlight, which is the local charity the children decided on.
Year 5 and 6 have been taking part in a weekly ‘Let’s Play Samba’ drumming workshop since January. The workshops will be finishing at the end of this term.
The children have all been practising really hard and we would like to invite you in to see them in action on Thursday 28th March at 10am.
We have organised for ‘The Ministry of Chocolate’ to come and visit Year 3 children. To support their learning in class, this workshop will take children on an exciting, comprehensive and very carefully crafted ‘chocolate journey’. The workshop has a very high visual and physical stimulus content. The children will get to see and touch real cocoa pods, real cocoa beans and taste a little bit of cocoa nib
Friday 22nd March - Grand opening of the track and 'Race for Life' raising money for Cancer Research (sponsor forms have been sent home) - There will also be a Football Coach visit. This will be a Sports Mufti Day - children to wear PE clothing suitable for running, jogging and fast walking. We are asking for a donation of £1 which will contribute to sporting equipment.
Year 6 to visit the Stibbington Centre in Peterborough to experience a re-created ‘Evacuation Day’. On Evacuation Days they turn the clock back to the 1940s. In the role of real children who were evacuated from London to Stibbington during WWII, the day begins with arrival at the nearby steam railway centre. From there a learning walk takes children through the wartime countryside to the Centre where lessons include In line with the National Curriculum and to support our learning about World War 2, we have arranged for gas mask drill and air raids.
High energy performance with important messages. Extreme Bike Show - Whilst exhilarating the children with their daring stunts, the team communicate key messages around road safety, anti-bullying, wellness and what it takes to be a champion. Day 2 of our Sports Week.
Nekoda Davis will be at Hazel Leys Academy to start Sports Week. Nekoda started Judo at 6 and reached the highest level of the sport; a multiple British Champion and competing at tournaments all over the world including the olympics. We can't wait to welcome her.
Children can wear something red with mufti clothes. The Academy Council will be selling Red Noses at lunchtimes at a cost of £1.25.
Children will be taking part in a range of science activities. Our hall boards will celebrate the work completed. Friday 15th March -Bubbleworks Science Assembly and workshops.
Children can dress up as their favourite story book character.
