Admissions

Admissions to the Hazel Leys Academy

Thank you for your interest in applying for your child to enrol at our wonderful school. For an insight into life at the Hazel Leys Academy, please view this short video.

The Hazel Leys Academy provides education for children within the 4 -11 age range in the Corby area.

For Reception year, in the year preceding admission, parents should apply online via the North Northamptonshire Council School Admissions Team. Click here to apply online, where you can make your application and find helpful tips and information.

For all other in-year admissions, parents must apply for a place through North Northamptonshire Council – please click here

For admission to our Nursery, please contact the Academy office on 01536 202681.

Appeals:

There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.

Parents/carers should submit their appeal, giving their reasons for appeal, via the online appeal form on the NNC website.  Please visit this Appeals page for more information about deadlines and to complete the form.

Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
